oh my that smells good...

get your hands on a tobi tobin candle.. any of them... ALL of them. they are all amazing. i hate to give away my scent secrets... but i figure everyone deserves to have an amazing smelling home! i cant even narrow it down to my top three because i'll take any of them... and the only way to experience them is to get one... now.

while your in there check out their amazing home decor! the perfect mix of vintage classic bohemian sexy comfort chic all rolled in to one amazing selection. to top it off they sell luxury chocolates (i have to get a dark choc truffle fudge with sea salt every time... and you will too)

and i guess if you twisted my arm and i HAD to pick three they would be:
romanesque, bibliotheque, georgian, baroque, oh and signature

now turn down the lights and strike a match!

sunday bloody sunday

Calling all Truebies!

Sookie, Bill, Eric and the rest of Bon Temps are back! How did you feel about the
premiere? More importantly, did you watch the Double Feature? Are we loving Lafayette's new hair, or Tara (excuse me Tony's) new storyline?! Dying to hear your thoughts!

Father's Day DIY Coasters

In celebration of all the fathers out there that love to enjoy a cocktail or two, here is a simple, yet meaningful gift that is personal+practical. . .

{SUPPLIES: Modpodge, 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" tile, a small brush, and clear Polycrylic }
{STEP 1:} photocopy your favorite pics onto cardstock. I was lazy and used my color printer
{STEP 2:} trim the pics to size + modpodge onto tile
{STEP 3:} once the modpodge is dry, paint a coat of polycrylic onto your pics
I have to admit, this project came about because I bought these stone ice cubes that I thought were neat. But at the same time, I thought to myself "what a random Father's Day gift?" My dad LOVES his whiskey but I realized my gift needed something more personal.

{STEP 4: Presentation is everything! Tie your best ribbon, twine, or rope around these suckers and your gift is complete and sure to impress!}
These were super easy, cost $1 a pop, and turned out better than I expected! I am definitely going to make these more often. . . birthdays, party favors, any holiday really!

modpodge away. . .xoxo laura

ooh la lashes

Brigitte Bardot and those eyelashes. I seriously think I grew up in the wrong era. Any time period which begs for big hair and false lashes- SIGN ME UP! The good news is that basically every drug store or beauty supply store still carries these things! They take a couple minutes to put on and even less time to tear them off.

1.) Start with your lashes.

2.) Add your adhesive ( I recommend the clear ones!)

3.) Give them a few to dry and then curl them.

4.) Add your mascara. ( LOVE, love, LOVE Dior Show)

5.) Voi-la!!!! You're a beauty queen!!!

p.s. have fun ripping them off. make sure you use eye make up remover!!!

Follow Your Heart

I have always loved old, vintage maps. I was obsessed with the movie Goonies as a child which sparked my fascination with treasure maps. My Follow Your Heart project is super simple and will surely be used in more ways than one! Use these little guys for confetti, inside an invite, and maybe as a little love note for that special someone. . .

{Pick these up}
. an old map .

. a heart hole punch .

donut muffins!

take the little ones and get in the kitchen - were making donut muffins! ahhh donuts...we have a love/hate relationship. when i was little we used to get donuts every weekend on our way to sunday school, so they bring back a sort of nostalgic feeling, yet every time i eat one.... ok eat two ... or three... i immediately think to myself why god? why? why is something so good so bad ..... that’s when the book spoke to me... my recipe book that is... donut mini muffins! ok ok so maybe these aren’t the best snack but muffin sounds healthier than donut.... right? plus they are small so you can just pop one or two to satisfy sugar cravings without feeling guilty. my lil’ mcnugget and i went on a mission!

(remember this is supposed to be fun and messy...so control your OCD and let them go wild...)

here's what ya need:

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup butter, melted

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp baking powder

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup butter, melted

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and grease a muffin tin, set aside. Mix up the 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup butter and nutmeg in a large bowl. Then, add in the milk, baking powder and flour until just combined. Fill muffin tins about 3/4 full and bake for 15-20 minutes. side note... i made mini mini muffins.. i would recommend making them atleast the next size up...

while the goods are baking get your cinnamon-sugar mixed up. Melt 1/4 cup butter in a separate bowl. When the muffins are done, remove them from the pan. Dip the tops in the melted butter and then roll the WHOLE muffin in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Let cool... or not.

(if your kids and counters don't look like this.... your doing it wrong...)

yummmm.....
